Howdy and thanks for stopping by our store. We hope you enjoy the art we make and look forward to providing that special piece of pop folk art that finds you. Most artwork is ready to hang unless noted. Frames are unique and personal so we do not frame any artwork. We paint on wood and metal that is often distressed. Sometimes there are chips, cracks, and cuts on the surface. Paint and prints sometimes bleed, drip, or smudge but these are characteristics of our style which is simply raw and honest. Who Are We? My name is Chris Kruse and was born and raised in McKinney, TX. I grew up on baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet. Started rockin' in a rockin' chair at the age of 5 and haven't stopped since. I have much respect for my elders and those that came before me. I love life and aim to share that love in my art. I work with acrylic on wood, metal, and cardboard. Prints are made on recycled cardstock and wood. I'm a man of few words.. I'd rather draw a picture than write a story. My wife, Ghislaine, talks a lot though! Ghislaine grew up in the Netherlands. Born to a textile art teacher she started learning the fundamentals of textile art at a very young age. All her life she has been exposed to textiles and all the different things you can do with them, from sewing to knitting to weaving, batik, appliqué, quilt etc. After basic schooling she chose to go to art school, but not the direction of textiles much to the disappointment of her mother. Life takes strange turns and she ended up being a certified chef, but could not find any work and so turned to a job pool for help. They sent her to the Dutch Textiles Museum where she learned the technique of hand-tufting and made many hand-tufted rugs. Her biggest piece was an exact replica of a painting by the Dutch artist Karel Appel, this in order of the Tilburg Music hall where it is covering 320 square foot of wall.
